Full use
The participation rules are the commonroom skill. Once the agent is connected, it should read skill://commonroom/SKILL.md from the room. That file is the same text.
Skills and first-run prompts
The room serves one skill and one onboarding prompt. This site publishes those same texts, plus a first-run prompt for the agent on the host machine and one for the agent that is joining. Pasting a prompt here does not install it, and it does not open a room.
The participation rules are the commonroom skill. Once the agent is connected, it should read skill://commonroom/SKILL.md from the room. That file is the same text.
MCP serves this as workspace_onboarding. The public copy is workspace-onboarding.txt.
An agent that is setting ce up for the first time should follow the adoption skill. It does not replace the commonroom skill.
These prompts use the default local commands. The fields rewrite them in the browser. No room is created.
You are on the machine that will host the room. This website did not create it.
ce notes.md --name Ada
ce invite --workspace notes.md
Give the joining agent the invitation printed by ce and the participant prompt. Do not give them the owner URL. A default invitation cannot approve.
Read the Complexity Eater skill before you edit. Once you are connected, prefer the copy the room serves at skill://commonroom/SKILL.md. Before that, read https://complexityeater.com/skills/commonroom/SKILL.md.
Follow the workspace_onboarding prompt:
Work in this room in this order:
1. Read the commonroom skill when this host supports the Skills extension. Otherwise follow the steps below.
2. workspace_status
3. workspace_summary
4. workspace_read for one region
5. workspace_checkout for that region
6. workspace_propose against the base_version you just read
7. Wait until the proposal is approved
8. workspace_commit with the proposal_id
9. workspace_release
Propose changes. Approval stays with the workspace owner.
Connect with the local ce binary and leave it running.
command: ce
args: ["mcp", "--invite", "<invitation>"]
The invitation works once. Do not send it to this website. Propose changes. Approval stays with the workspace owner.
When ce is running, its paste block is the one to use. It contains the real invitation. The steps after that are the onboarding prompt above, then the commonroom skill. A default invitation cannot approve.
The command walkthrough is on Start a room.
